Job description

This is a unique opportunity to lead La Cabra’s expansion into an exciting new market. As General Manager, you will oversee the launch and day-to-day operations of our first café and bakery locations in Korea, shaping how our brand is introduced and experienced. You will drive operational excellence, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and ensure strong financial performance. In this role, you will report directly to both our Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of Sales, and work alongside a talented team to build a strong foundation for La Cabra’s success in Korea.

Sales, Financial & Reporting Responsibility

  • Improve operations in all locations by optimising service workflows, inventory management, and supplier relationships to maximise efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Oversee financial performance across all Korean café locations, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with La Cabra HQ targets.

  • Lead budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting, including monthly reports submitted in coordination with La Cabra HQ.

  • Develop and implements upselling strategies and team training to enhance revenue per transaction.

  • Drive bakery sales and ensures product visibility and strategic placement to maximize revenue opportunities.

Leadership and Team Organization

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and team development.

  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture by modeling company values and supporting open, respectful communication.

  • Oversee staff scheduling, attendance, and daily team coordination to ensure smooth operations across all locations.

  • Develop clear growth paths and mentorship programs to retain talent and build internal leadership.

  • Conduct regular leadership meetings to review team performance, share updates, and align on goals.

Quality of Products, Functionality, Safety, and Store Appearance

  • Maintain high standards of quality and presentation for all coffee and bakery offerings through daily coordination and quality control.

  • Ensure clear communication between front- and back-of-house teams to keep all items fresh, well-stocked, and properly labeled.

  • Oversee store layout, display design, and cleanliness to reflect La Cabra’s aesthetic and functional

  • Lead planning and rollout of seasonal products and in-store promotions in collaboration with both local teams and HQ.

  • Monitor service quality and guest feedback, implementing improvements to elevate the customer experience.

Ideal candidate

  • Possesses a genuine interest in coffee and enthusiasm for contributing to a team dedicated to offering exceptional guest and taste experiences.

  • Brings at least 8 years of relevant experience, ideally in café or bakery operations, with a proven track record of leadership.

  • Communicates fluently in English (written and verbal), with the ability to collaborate across cultures and teams.

  • A team player who thrives in high-energy, service-driven environments. continuous improvement efforts.

  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness, ensuring every cup meets our standards.

  • Balances a hands-on attitude with strategic thinking, staying calm, engaged, and detail-oriented

Over the past few years, we have expanded our coffee horizons, moving to a larger roastery in Copenhagen and opening our first international locations.
