We are offering an exciting opportunity to lead the launch and operations of our new café and bakery locations in Madrid, Spain. As General Manager, you will oversee daily operations, team leadership, and business performance while shaping how our brand is introduced and experienced in this vibrant European capital. You will drive operational excellence, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and ensure strong financial outcomes. This role reports directly to both the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of Sales, and involves close collaboration with a talented and passionate team to establish a strong foundation for long-term success.

Sales, Financial & Reporting Responsibilities

  • Optimize service workflows, inventory management, and supplier partnerships across Madrid locations to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.

  • Oversee financial performance across multiple Madrid locations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with company goals.

  • Lead budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting, including monthly reports coordinated with headquarters.

  • Implement upselling strategies and team training programs to enhance revenue per transaction.

  • Drive bakery sales and product visibility through strategic placement and merchandising that appeals to local Madrid market preferences.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing staff development within the Madrid market.

  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture by modeling core company values and encouraging open, respectful communication.

  • Oversee team scheduling, attendance, and daily coordination to ensure smooth and effective operations.

  • Create clear career growth paths and mentorship programs to retain and develop talent.

  • Conduct regular leadership meetings to assess team performance, share updates, and align on objectives.

Product Quality, Safety, and Store Experience

  • Maintain exceptional quality and presentation standards across all Madrid café and bakery offerings through daily coordination and quality control.

  • Ensure clear communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to keep products fresh, well-stocked, and properly labeled.

  • Oversee store layout, design, and cleanliness to reflect the brand's aesthetic and functionality while adapting to local Madrid preferences.

  • Lead seasonal product launches and in-store promotions in collaboration with local Madrid teams and headquarters.

  • Monitor guest feedback and service quality, implementing improvements to enhance the overall customer experience.

Ideal Candidate

  • Passionate about coffee and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

  • Brings a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in café, bakery, or hospitality operations, with proven leadership success.

  • Communicates fluently in English and Spanish (written and verbal), with strong cross-cultural collaboration skills.

  • Has good understanding of Madrid's food and coffee culture and customer preferences.

  • Thrives in high-energy, service-focused environments and actively contributes to continuous improvement efforts.

  • Has strong attention to detail and cleanliness, ensuring that all products meet brand standards.

  • Balances hands-on operational management with strategic thinking, remaining calm, focused, and detail-oriented under pressure.

  • Experience with European food safety regulations and Spanish labor laws is highly desirable.
